At present, the store seems to be holding its pricing on the low side on many products. This is a nice turnaround from being one of the more expensive supermarkets in the past . The main problem at the Kingswinford store is it being understaffed. Around 14 checkouts are available with, on average, a maximum of only two operating at a time.which is frustrating to say the least. The newspaper/tobacco desk needs to be manned by two operatives ( one dealing with tobacco and newspaper sales , the other dealing with Lottery and balloon sales) as the queue here is often deep and too much for one assistant. The pharmacy also moves at a snail’s pace, with too much gossiping and seemingly an unorganised and chaotic environment being created by its staff. Most of them seem happy to work in the background rather than deal with customers head on, again causing deep queues more times than not. Most staff in the store are constantly complaining that the store is too cold to work in comfortably. There also seems to be a fridge or freezer unit that is leaking across the shop floor on a daily basis . The petrol station seems to operate efficiently and quickly with no problems at present. I feel the whole store needs a refurb and definitely an increase in staffing levels . If these issues were corrected, the store would be worthy of five stars instead of an average three.
